Netball Registration Terms 2&3 2025
Registrations close Friday 2nd May
Games are played after school on Tuesdays at the Edgar Center.
The 2025 season begins on the 27th May and runs through to the 19th August.
Teams are available for Years 3-6. Teams will be arranged according to the numbers and year levels of interested students.
Important:
Parent help to manage teams and umpire games on the day is essential. We require a manager and an umpire (or someone happy to do both) in order to enter each team. Coaching/practices is optional, but would be great if we can get some parent support for this too.
Clear guidelines for the rules for each age group will be given and there is a lot of support at the courts on the day.
Please email charlotte@nevn.school.nz if you are able to help with managing/coaching.
Cost
The cost for 2025 is $70 per child.
Payments must be made before the first game. Pay to the school bank account: 03 1726 0055515 000 – include Netball and your child’s name as reference. Please contact the office@nevn.school.nz if you need support with this.

Kiwihoops takes place at the Edgar Centre and is run by Basketball Otago. Games take place every Thursday from week 2 term 2 to mid-way through term 3. Start times for games vary from 3.30pm to 6.30pm. No prior basketball experience is necessary! This year there is a Y1/2 competition called ‘Mini Dunkers’, a Y3/4 competition called ‘Junior Ballers’ and a Y5/6 competition called ‘Junior Rising Stars’.
The cost for the 12 week season will be a maximum of $60 per player for Years 3/4 (Kiwihoops Mini Dunkers and Junior Ballers), and a maximum of $90 per player for Years 5/6 (Kiwihoops Pro). This cost may vary slightly depending on how many tamariki take part and player fees will need to be paid to the school office after team numbers have been confirmed. Costs for Y5/6 players are higher as they play a full court game.
All players are required to wear a mouthguard in order to play. This rule is strictly enforced by the referees. Mouthguards can be bought for about $10 from Rebel Sports and large supermarkets.
Parents and caregivers will need to organise transport to and from the Edgar Centre for their child on game days, and we will need help from parents and caregivers to coach the individual teams on Thursday evenings.
There is a private ‘NEVN Kiwihoops 2025’ Facebook page to help with communication throughout the season. Please search for ‘NEVN Kiwihoops 2025’ on Facebook and apply to join the group. This is a private group and can only be viewed by whānau of Kiwihoops players.
Please email me before Thursday 9th April to confirm participation. I will work out playing squads once I have established how many students are interested.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to drop me an email.
Ngā mihi nui, Ed Ansell
