4 March 2015 Term 1 Week 5 15/5
Dear Parents & Caregivers
Kia ora koutou katoa
The bi-lingual class has started for the year. Mrs Kewene-Edwards will teach this class each Wednesday morning. At this stage no new enrolments will be accepted – the class is large enough. When places become available we will inform the whanau.
I would like to have a whanau hui this month – Tuesday 17 March at 4.30pm. We will discuss:
- Values and virtues of our Kura.
- Ta taiako.
While the hui is pitched at Maori whanau all are welcome to attend.
Wheels Friday and Sandpit Use
We are returning to separating juniors and seniors using the sandpit and having ‘wheels day’. So, this week, the sandpit is for the children in the senior block and wheels day on Friday will be restricted to juniors.
Next week the juniors will have exclusive use of the sandpit and the seniors will have wheels Friday.
Lateness and Earliness
The school is open for business at 8.30am. Children are not to come to school before 8.30am unless by arrangement with the principal. Similarly children need to collected at 3.00pm each day – teachers schedule meetings with parents and have other commitments to attend to after school and are not available to watch the children until their parents arrive. If you find yourself unable to collect your child by 3.00pm then let the office know.
The fair is the first since 2002 and is shaping up to be a great day. Good luck to all who are taking part!
Kia kaha tatou katoa ki te tautoko o tatou tamariki, mokopuna hoki.
Welcome to Phoenix and Malaki who have started in H4 with Mrs Will.
Rainbow class will be held in room H4 this Thursday from 1.15-2.45pm. This is a fun class taken by Mrs Will, the new entrant teacher, to aid the children’s transition to school. If you have a 4 year old who would like to join in, please contact Mrs Will or the office.
There is no assembly this Friday as the hall is being prepared for the fair.
On Friday lunchtimes the junior children may ride their bikes, scooters, skateboards etc at school. Children who bring their bikes will need to wear a helmet. It is recommended that children wear a helmet when riding their scooters or skateboards. Peter McDonald, the bike man, will be at school during this time to help children with any bike repairs.
Please remember to return your child’s pupil profile to school noting any updates.
School Dental Service
There are dental school visits for some children this Friday. If you have received consent forms for your child, please complete and return to the office.
