Dear Parents & Caregivers
Kia ora koutou katoa

Upcoming Events
This is a short term – only 9 weeks – and we have lots on. We have changed a few dates so please note the following:

  • Ÿ Next week is Walk ‘n’ Wheel Week where we try to get as many children as possible to walk or wheel all or part of the way to school;
  • ŸThere will not be assembly on Friday 6th March as the hall will be taken over by the Fair
    Committee on that day;
  • Ÿ7th March is the school fair – starting at 11am. See the enclosed notice;
  • ŸWeek 6, beginning the 9th March: goal setting interviews. Slips will be issued next week;
  • ŸAthletics Day was meant to be on Friday 13 March but we have changed this to Tuesday 31st March;
  • ŸOtago Anniversary is a public holiday – Monday 23 March;
  • ŸThe Science Expo was due to be held on 31st of March – this has been changed to accommodate the Athletics Sports and will happen later in the year.

Ken Harvey’s Retirement
Ken Harvey is retiring. His last day is this Friday. Ken has been the school caretaker for 30 years. During that time he has seen many children, teachers and principals come and go. He has outlasted them all and is our longest serving staff member. The trustees and the staff acknowledge the immeasurable contribution Ken has made to the school over the years, and wish him a long, happy and healthy retirement.

Kia Kaha tatou Katoa ki te tautoko o tatou tamariki, mokopuna hoki.

John McKenzie
Principal
